Cornish Faculty Showcase

A concert of music by Cornish Faculty at the NEW Cornish venue Raisbeck Auditorium at the Ivey.

I'll be premiering a new work of mine called "Inside a Stone" for amplified piano and electronics. The great Jesse Myers will be playing piano. The piece is based on a beautiful poem written by my young friend Cass about 8 years ago (when she was 10), called "Inside a Stone". It explores what it would be like to live inside a stone. She was a frequent visitor to our cabin in Twisp (on the Twisp River) and was an ardent collector of river stones. I have brought back a couple dozen river stones that will be used to "prepare" the piano, and Jesse will play the stones as well as the piano. I am really looking forward to hearing the piece, and would love to share it with you.
